Most importantly, you will be my partners in the creation of these photos.

I will discuss with you in advance what we want to achieve with the photo shoot. Because my work is very spontaneous I cannot guarantee that you will get every shot you envisage but this steers me in the right direction.

Family and pets

If I am visiting your home we will spend the first half hour to an hour chatting and getting to know each other. When animals or small children are involved it gives them a chance to become relaxed about my presence.

Just imagine you have a guest over for coffee, who occasionally snaps a photo with an impressive looking camera.

Because I am often sitting on the floor I will not be wearing my best clothes.

If I am attending a family activity I will tag along and take photos as we go. I may ask people to move towards a particular area for nice backgrounds and light.

Sporting events

Tell me what is important in your sport, what the objective is and what the highlights are and where I can research more about it like online videos. This way I can start planning shots in my head and get an idea how best to position myself around the action. It may be appropriate to discuss in more detail the types of shots we would like to achieve and how we can best do that.

Weddings

If requested, I will follow the bride or the groom from the beginning of the day until after the bridal speeches, or, depending on time allowed, a subsection of that.

Please appoint a contact person who has no other wedding tasks, who knows both sides of the family and can help organise people for group shots. I am happy to have two if no one individual knows both sides of the family.

Guests may take photos as well but not during the ceremony. Flash photography can be very distracting which is why more pastors are requesting that no photos are taken during the ceremony. The ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to take some great shots and I will be very discrete. I will move around as little as possible and will take photos during music or movement so as to cause as little disturbance as possible.

Other events

As for a wedding, its a good idea to arrange a contact person who knows a good proportion of the people attending the event. Talk to me about your aims for the photos and the things you would like me to focus on.

Prices for photographic services

I work with two pricing models. A fixed price model based on time, and a pay per photo model.
